WHAT WOULD JESUS HAVE ME DO HERE?
I think it no accident that Judas betrays Jesus in the twenty-sixth chapter of Matthew and Peter disowns Him ten verses later.
Judas knew who Jesus was and conspired to rid the earth of Him for monetary gain. Peter only wanted to distance himself from Jesus so he wouldn’t be crucified with Him.
How does that work out today? There are terrorists who kill Christians and want to rid the world of any influence of Jesus. We are certainly not among them or other modern-day Judases. But how about when you snub a neighbor because she’s difficult to talk to, or avoid visiting someone in a nursing home because it’s so depressing, or think that all those in prison are hopeless sinners not worthy of our attention, or consider a beggar on the street as a despicable con-artist.
My friends, don’t be satisfied with not being a Judas. In all situations and circumstances, ask yourself, “What would Jesus have me do here?”
