The 12 apostles walked with Jesus for three years and knew him as well as any man can know another. And they loved Him dearly, perhaps even Judas until his sinful nature took over.
Paul, the appointed 12th Apostle, spent three years with Jesus in the Arabian Desert and came to know Him as well as the others through visions, great revelations, and being caught up to the third heaven – all of which he explains in the 12th Chapter of 2 Corinthians. From this surpassing knowledge of Jesus Christ, Paul imbues his epistles with the theme of Christ’s great love for us and our rejoinder to love Him in return, as well as our brothers and sisters.
