THE UNENDING FLAME

I have related to you that I start my mornings in the lower level before the fireplace. It puts me in a frame of listening instead of speaking. One could almost call it silent prayer. In the silence of my mind, the Holy Spirit plants thoughts that are not of my own origination.

Today’s thought was this: The flames in the fireplace are fueled by a seemingly unending supply of natural gas that comes from a supplier. But nothing happens until I turn the fireplace on. It is like that with the Holy Spirit. He is the unending supply of fuel for my soul, but I must turn the switch on between my spirit (where He lives) to my soul (where I live) before anything happens.
