THE HOLY SPIRIT STRIKES AGAIN
Last Tuesday, I visited Kennis in the Wright County Jail. I wrote a blog about him on November 11. He’s the one who said he’d rather go to Adult and Teen Challenge for 13 months than go free with no strings attached. He knows he needs a solid foundation of Christian living or he’ll go back to the same environment he came from, and get in trouble with drugs again.
The problem with his getting his wish is that he had a warrant out for his arrest in Hennepin County and that had to be quashed (set aside) before he could be paroled out to the Christian treatment facility in Minneapolis. I tried to be encouraging to Kennis, but the Hennepin County court system is not generous to the criminals coming through. I doubted that he’d make it and would spend a couple of years in jail.
I didn’t give the Holy Spirit enough credit, I guess. It was a miracle that happened a week ago today when Kennis went to Hennepin County to appear before the judge. Amazingly, it was the prosecutor who recommended to the judge that the warrant be quashed and that Kennis be allowed to go to Adult and Teen Challenge. He smiled at Kennis when he said that. I couldn’t believe it. Kennis and I whooped and hollered, as much as you can in the library of a county jail, and praised the Lord who is infinite in mercy and compassion. Kennis was praising God all over the place, and is now waiting for a bed to open up in Minneapolis for him to leave jail – and I think I can put a forever after that. Praise God indeed. The Holy Spirit strikes again.

This is wonderful news Pat!
I pray that Kennis might grow in the maturity of the Lord.
