THE FILTER OF GOD

OH LORD, too often I think of everything else before I think of You. And my mind dwells on everyone else before it dwells on You. It is time for me put You first every minute of this day and the days ahead. You are not an afterthought. You are not the remains of the day.

When my mind is filled with everything and everyone else, it seems impossible to pray. Joyce Meyer is right: the battlefield is in my mind. Too often my thinking is undisciplined and wandering, like dust blowing through my mind unfiltered.

I need a filter to control my thinking, and that filter is You Father, Your Son, Jesus Christ, and Your Holy Spirit who is the mesh of the filter. But I need to appropriate that filter through reading Your Word and continual prayer. It is a choice of my will, quickened by my mind and emotions.
