THE BODY OF CHRIST

Friday, January 11th, 2019

Yesterday, my wife and I went to Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis with good friends. I’ve been there many times before but have never sat in the balcony. For the first time, I could see the entire orchestra, how it’s arranged, and every single musician and instrument.

The first tier of musicians and instruments is the strings – violins, cellos, and basses. The second tier is the wind instruments – flutes, clarinets, oboes, horns, trumpets, trombones, bassoons, and tuba. The third tier is the percussion instruments – drums, timpani, and cymbals.

As I viewed all these instruments playing one composition written by one composer, I thought, “This is like the body of Christ. Different people play different instruments in the symphony of the creation, written by one Composer.”
