PETER WEPT BITTERLY
Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly. – Luke 22:61&62
Peter denied his Lord and Savior and wept bitterly – not because he was ashamed or remorseful, though he was, but he realized how inadequate he was, how quick to speak and how slow to back up his boast. He was destitute and wept that he was such a failure. From those tears came a man ready to be led by Christ and dependent on Him only .
