This same Padraic did not sit at the Last Supper table, but he gladly served Jesus and the 12 apostles as their personal waiter. He saw and heard it all.
When Jesus said, “Whoever has My commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him (John 14:21),” Padraic was puzzled. Was Jesus talking about the Ten Commandments or something else?
He never got a chance to ask this of Jesus personally because of all that took place after the Last Supper, but sometime later, in an upper room, he asked the Apostle Matthew what Jesus meant.
“Don’t you remember all that Jesus gave us as His commands,” Matthew said. “I have many of them memorized. Let me give you some examples.” -To be continued
