OBEDIENCE
At last Wednesday’s Bible study, Pastor Bill cited Philippians 1:16 where the Apostle Paul said, “I am put here for the defense of the gospel.” The pastor then looked up and said, “We are called to be obedient, not to accomplish results. That is the business of God.”
My mind went back to a line in East Coker by T.S. Eliot: “For us there is only the trying. The rest is not our business.” If the Lord lays on your heart to do this or that, don’t argue with Him that it won’t do any good. Your business is to do what he asks. His business is the results.
