LITTLE ALICE MEETS JESUS
My granddaughter, not yet five, was looking forward with great excitement to a breakfast of sugared cereal at her daycare center, something she is not allowed to have at home.
Alice’s Nana, my wife, was helping her dress and otherwise get ready to leave. Mornings are not the best time for Alice, but this morning she was cooperative in every way, because it was the day of sugared cereal.
When the two of them walked into Alice’s daycare room, they discovered that the sugared cereal was served yesterday, when Nana brought her later in the morning. My wife was waiting for her to have a meltdown, for that’s her tendency when she doesn’t get something she wants. Instead, she sat calmly down to a dish of pears and an English muffin, and gave Nana a big hug before she left.
I wish I had been there. In my mind’s eye I see Jesus sitting beside Alice, comforting her. Her parents have taught her faithfully about who Jesus is, and I think she may have met Him that morning for breakfast.

Love hearing stories of my sweet Alice! You’re right, Jesus MUST have been there comforting her, as I have witnessed those melt downs!
