IT’S A MAD, MAD WORLD

Tuesday, July 24th, 2018

I thought I’d never know what happened to Mitch, one of the men I’m mentoring. He’s the gang member I’ve spoken of before who became saved in the Wright County Jail. He wanted desperately to get into treatment but couldn’t. You see, the crime he committed was being in possession of stolen property, not the drug selling and using that he did throughout Central Minnesota.

Mitch, didn’t  want to be put on probation because he knew he’d be right back into the drug culture he came from. But that’s what happened. Within a week, a police officer arrested him from the back of a car that was parked in front of a house to pick up a packet of meth. Mitch was so wasted that the officer said he was lucky he got caught because he’d be dead in  days.

Yesterday, I went to the jail to visit with Jeremy, another inmate I’m mentoring,  and Mitch came out of a computer room to say hello. I thanked God for giving me another chance to talk to him. Now, finally, Mitch can get the help he needs. He’s going to a treatment center next week, then to a half-way house, then back to Colorado to live with his sister and her husband, a former Airborne Ranger. Both are God-fearing people and want to help Mitch get back on his feet.

Please pray for Mitch that he is able to stay off drugs and live a useful life again.
