Faith increases with experience and decreases through forgetfulness. That’s why the Israelites picked up 12 stones from the middle of the Jordan River when they passed through and piled them up on the other side as a remembrance of God’s intervention in their lives.
God intervened in the lives of His chosen people with ten plagues and the parting of the Red Sea, but they forgot and wandered in the desert for 40 years.
I have faith in God because I have experienced His intervention in my own life. And I believe everything in the Bible because it is the written word of God through men He chose for just that purpose. Moses was educated in the courts of Egypt for 40 years to equip him to write the first five books of the Bible. Paul was a highly educated Roman citizen and Pharisee so he was able to compose 13 epistles in the Greek language.
