My precious granddaughter Alice, just 8 years old, was admitted to Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis October 15. She underwent emergency surgery to remove a brain tumor on October 17, an operation that saved her life. This is why I have not posted for such a long time. I’ve been up at the hospital and taking care of the family home and dog.
She was released yesterday and is now home facing a long road of recovery with physical, occupational, and speech therapy at a Children’s facility 3 miles from her home…on an outpatient basis.
It is life and death events like this that cause one to think of how God fits into all this. Four days ago, I was drawn to this passage in Scripture.
In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness had not understood it. John 1:4-5
Alice’s brain tumor is the result of this world’s darkness. But Jesus’ light shines in the darkness. Lord Jesus, shine Your light into the darkness of Alice’s life right now. I call on Your promise.
If you would pray that prayer with me, I would greatly appreciate it. Much prayer saved her life and much more prayer is needed to bring her out of this present darkness (she has the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder).
