A NEW PAIR OF SHOES
Last summer, my friend Ron came across a young man standing in a parking lot, dressed shabbily and wearing a pair of shoes that were disintegrating on his feet. Moved by the Holy Spirit, Ron took him to a store and bought him a new pair of shoes. That would be a good story in itself, but there’s more.
Ron talked to him for a good hour after that. The young man had committed a felony and was awaiting sentencing in two days. Ron told him about the love of Jesus and suggested he ask the judge to send him to Teen and Adult Challenge instead of jail. That’s the last Ron heard from him…until two weeks ago when he received a call from Minneapolis.
The young man thanked Ron profusely for what he had done to give him hope at a dark time in his life. “I am in Teen Challenge and just accepted Jesus Christ into my life last night.” That’s the end of the story.

This is a great reflection! Even though it isn’t always a good idea to get into a car with a felon, this has a wonderfully inspiring ending!
