A GOOD DAY TO DIE
Tyler called early Saturday afternoon, so excited and joyful that he could barely contain himself. He was offered a job from Allina Health as a peer-support counselor in the very hospital he was treated at in Minneapolis this summer, following a recovered-addict presentation to a roomful of doctors and health executives at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Minneapolis. After the presentation, he gathered with his family nearby who celebrated his miraculous recovery from addiction, depression, and crime. “It’s not what I’ve done,” said Tyler, “but what Jesus has done for me. I made a mess of my life, but He redeemed me.”
The previous Sunday, Tyler had given his Christian testimony in a church in Minneapolis and was later in the week given two front-row tickets to a concert by the Newsboys, a Christian pop band from Australia, by a person he had never met before. In addition, he heard from his father who had not been in his life from an early age. “It’s been such a fantastic week and I’m so joyful that I’m ready to meet Jesus right now and spend all eternity with Him. This would be a good day to die, but I know he has work for me to do.”
All this from a twenty-two-year-old kid who had planned to commit suicide the day he was released from the Wright County Jail. I am so thankful God put me in Tyler’s life so I could see Him at work. There is no other explanation of Tyler’s remarkable transformation than Jesus.

I was just reading Romans 12:2 this morning: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Tyler is proving God’s will. Very inspiring.
